The beautifully designed interior of Milse Desert restaurant, was inspired by Islamic window latticework. Working closely with Chesire Architects we took their complex design that has the space looking at once like a crystal filled cave as well as much bigger than its meagre 85 square metre footprint. Using 221 square metres of 12mm Keuring plywood, Greenmount Espies manufactured 1100 individual triangles. The use of our SCM 5-Axis CNC machine proved pivotal to the execution of the design, as no two components were the same. Smaller sub assemblies were made at the factory with the final install happening on site - using 3700 butt hinges to hold it all together.
